A Word of Explanation...

For those that might not have read the last post, or understood, my little sister Sharon had uploaded some pictures and typed for me, as I was busy rocking it out on Guitar Hero, but wanted a quick post. She was so kind to do it for me, and took some creative license with it... I seem to have acquired a picture of her daughter on my blog sidebar... and that is not the action shot of Kick-Ball I would've chosen. I would've gotten one a bit more flattering, and graceful looking. But, I am grateful for her to do that for me, and I had a wonderful time on our reunion. I will post more about it, and try to do it soon...

Weber Family Reunion

Well it's that time of year again friends... "What time is it? Family reunion time!" Derek and I have been in Utah since Thursday, we left from Spokane at 2:00am to get there, what a drive! We set up our tent in the backyard of my brother's house, and got ready for an awesome weekend. We went up to "the canyon," and it was so pretty, I can't even describe it, I also got a little burned... but totally worth it. Then on Saturday we had a chance to go to the temple together, take a swim, and have a talent show! (I made up a pretty good stage crew, I was in charge of bubbles, and made a special appearance with my sister Rebekah in her talent) Then today we took some family pictures, went to church, made dinner, had a gift exchange (I won the bag I wanted), had a great family discussion, and played some guitar hero, I ROCK! But the best thing about the whole weekend was seeing my little sister Sharon, she's awesome! (Kidding, Sharon is actually typing this... with little to no supervision from Shavonne) anyways, enjoy the pictures, and I make a vow to update more often, maybe after our cruise, or the summer, or Christmas... for reals!

Those shorts are so cute!

Never say that to your husband... about his shorts! Derek got some new shorts yesterday at American Eagle, and when he showed them to me, I blurted out, "Those are really cute!" Not a macho thing to say, so he threatened to return them, as he wasn't into cute man stuff. I immedately ammended my compliment, and told him how manly they were, and I may have said Dude. Anyway, be sure to keep your head enough not to say to a guy that anything about him is Cute.

Seattle, May '09

Ok, here are some pictures from our last Seattle trip. Since we have been there often, we had a relaxing, do whatever kind of trip. It was a GORGEOUS weekend. We spent some time window shopping at all the stores, seeing the sights, and eating... and eating some more... It's a good think we walked everywhere, as we had major calories to burn.

The next few pictures are of the downtown Seattle Library. I know, its wierd to go sightseeing to a library but it was on the list of top things to do in Seattle, so we were curious. And were impressed! This building looks like it was created by 5 different architects with wildly differents tastes, and stuck on top of each other. Each floor was unique, and it was like walking in an M.C. Escher picture because the floors were staggered.

This level, I'm not sure what the point was, other than for asthetic appeal, because I didn't see any books. I felt like I was in a blood vessel!

Looking down to the main lobby area.
There was a bright green/yellow escalator that went up straight about 6 stories tall and on either side were the levels full of books. This is were it was staggered like a split level home. The right side would be higher than the left side. Weird.

this would be a great reading area.

Looking down from the top story.

This was at H&M store. Purple cut-off sweat pants, Orange hoodie, plaid shirt and converse? I guess I"m not hip enough in fashion to think this looks good.

We ate at Ivar's, on the Pier, and of course got Clam Chowder. Such a beautiful day!

At Pike's place... How do they do that?!

This was an awesome place to eat, they had amazing little cheesecakes. I got a PB chocolate one, that was sooo good, and Derek got the Classic NY cheesecake. Yum!

Of course, we had to get flowers at Pikes.

At our hotel, Derek spent like 15 minutes in the bathroom taking pictures... this is what he was doing. He was getting his pupils to look square. We have like 10 different pictures in varying degrees of closeness of the square pupils. It makes me think the book, The Host by Stephenie Myer

Catch up

Here are some pictures I've been meaning to post, so I'll just try to catch up the last couple months. They uploaded in reverse order, and I didnt' feel like moving them all, so just skip to the bottom and work your way up...

Yay for parades and family!

I'm thinking Arby's! Can you see it?

I liked this car. You couldn't get away with this flamboyancy in real life!

My brother Ian is an awesome DJ, and this is his call name, or business name: DJ iWeb.

this is one of my favorite pictures, an action picture of Baili playing Hopscotch. Ah, a return to the old school games, and not needing an video game to entertain ourselves!

On thing, I love about parades is the sense of community, and how its like the rest of the world stops. I love being able to walk and play on the streets. It's like having the rules lift for a time, like you're doing something wrong, but not really.

Kristen with her butterfly. I think she got tired of pictures, because she started hiding her face from the camera.

The girls went and saw their dad, who had a face painter. Baili posed so well, I love the pictures of her with her face painted. You can see the button the "Princesses" gave her.

Ian, Kristen, and his fantastic girlfriend, Brianne. She's a sweetheart

We saw some princesses from Davenport, and the Girls went crazy of them! It was so cute, Kristen kept wanting to touch their dresses. they were sweet enough to take pictures with them, and they gave them a button with their pictures on it.

Speaking of Lilacs, the rest of the pictures are from when Rebekah, Nancy, Ian, his girlfriend Brianne, and Rebekah's two girls and I all went to the Lilac parade. It was alot of fun, and great to be with my family. Of course, whenever I can get someone to go with me, I try to go Letterboxing, and there were two at Riverfront park. So we took the girl's "Treasure Hunting". Here's Baili pulling out a box we found.

I love the Lilac bushes as they start blooming. they are so pretty, and smell so good.
The flowers are called Pocketbook Flowers. don't they just look like a cute purse?

Last month, in May we took some pictures of the blooming flowers at Manito park. Here are some of them.

On an overlook about to leave the park. We stopped here to find a Letterbox. YOu can see some of rock formations of GOG, and in the back is Pike's Peak.

It made me want to go rock climbing, which I"ve never done.

This is from the Girl's weekend we had in April (see, I"m way behind!) where most of the girls in my family came together, plus Bethany, our good friend. Shaina has already done a good job at posting what went on that weekend, so I'll let you go here to get the full info: http://just-because-i-am-me.blogspot.com/2009/04/weekend-pictures.html We are hiking in The Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs, CO. It was a beautiful park, and I'm glad we got to go. Sharon (& Jayners) and I stayed a few days extra, with Shaina's family.
