Man down

It's a sad day in the Wood household. Yesterday out computer decided it was done living, and gave up the ghost. You don't realize just how dependent you become on a computer! It wouldn't be so bad, because when I'm at work I have access to a computer (like what I'm doing right now) but the real bummer is all the files you cant access for now. Especially the YW lesson I actually prepared in the beginning of the week and now, Saturday, I have to start fresh again! Derek has ordered new parts to build it fresh again, or to give it a major overhaul so we can access all our files, pictures, music, etc.... but not in time for Sunday.
Anyway I probably won't post, or comment much in the next week, or the two weeks after that (Roadtrip!) but after that we should be back in business!

Babette Blanket

Next to reading, my next favorite thing to do is craft. I have all kinds of things I like to do, and therefore have ALOT of WIP (works in progress), or ideas written down of things, and patterns gathered of things I want to do eventually. My interests are pretty broad. I'm not necessarily great at it all, but I enjoy doing them. Anyway, I figured I would start posting about them more.

The project I'm about to start on is called the Babette Blanket, found on the Interweave Magazine website here: http://shop.interweave.com/Babette-Blanket-P235C59.aspx

As soon as I saw it I wanted to make it. There are all sorts of different color versions of it that people have made that have been uploaded onto flickr.
I saw this one and may make it in these colors next. It makes me think of a sunset, the colors are so beautiful together!

But these are the colors I have decided on first. I'm really into teal and brown, blues and greens right now (as you can tell from my background). That darker blue is more teal in person. I figure this will be a good project to work on while on our Roadtrip (11 more days left!)

I hope to show some good progress when I get back. I think if I post about my projects, then I'll be more likely to finish them sooner with you all to be accountable to! Haha- tell me what you think!

Random thought before falling asleep

Last night I was just about to drift off to sleep when I thought of Hypercolor T-Shirts. Do you remember those? What I was wondering about was, how that was in any way a good idea? Do you really want to emphasize hot and sweaty parts, or when your whole body is hot and sweaty? I do remember wishing I had one, and when I finally did get one they were losing their "radness". Mine went from purple to pink as I recall, and it was too big, but I was excited to wear it!

As I was searching pictures for hypercolor shirts, I came upon this little gem: a Hypercolor Toilet Seat! Some people are so weird...

Updates

Oh man, I know it has been so long since I've updated my blog, and even then it's only been occasionally for the last month or two. So, here is a quick synopsis with what's going with me.
First I just got back from my sibling reunion and had such a wonderful time with them! When we all arrived we were so hyper and excited we kept talking over one another and hugging each other, sometimes twice because we couldn't remember if we had hugged that person yet. I decided that I won't post any pictures or videos of them here, for now because Shaina( http://just-because-i-am-me.blogspot.com/ ), and Sharon ( http://sharon-c-thats-me.blogspot.com/ ) have done a good job. We played all kinds of games, and had fun at lagoon, and went to the Provo Temple, and did gift exchanges (I got a pedometer-Yay!) and just reveled in being together again. We watched some old home video footage and laughed so hard some of us (you know who you are!) almost peed (her) pants! It WAS great.
Anyway now that I'm back I am back to working extra for our upcoming Roadtrip. We have been so busy on the Labor and Delivery floor that it has been easy getting extra hours, but now I'm am starting to get burned out. After our trip I don't think I'll sign up extra for awhile (at least til it's closer to Christmas...)
And now I just realized I havent' outlined what we're doing for our vacation that we both are working so much extra for! We are taking two weeks off in September and are doing a good ol' fashioned road trip. We are driving over to the Oregon coast and staying there, then a night in upper CA in the Redwood National Forrest. Then we are staying several nights in the San Francisco/San Jose area visiting family and enjoying the town. Then off to drive through Yosemite and Death Valley on our way to Las Vegas where we'll stay a couple days. After that we'll South to the Grand Canyon, then up through Zion's National Park on North to Spanish Fork to see more family. Then finally take the last leg home. We are taking two weeks off and driving a big loop. We are staying in hotels only 5 nights and the rest will be with family or camping. We are really looking forward to the break, and the beautifu sights we'll see on the way, and the fun things we'll do while in the big cities. I'll definately be taking pictures and will tell all about it when we get back. So, you can see why we need to work extra (gas money!) but it actually won't be too bad. The gas estimate will be about the same as a round trip ticket to SF, for two, and we will get to see and do more!
Anyway there is the update in our lives for the moment and I'll try to be better about posting. Thanks for being patient with me!

More happy times

Oh, I just finished the fourth book, Breaking Dawn and I am so glad to know what finally happens! Can't wait for a few months to pass before I read it again. I think I'll start The Host again. In case you all didnt' know I like to cycle through my books when I really enjoy them, especially when I race through them like a wildfire. Next to a new book, I love a favorite old book.
Anyway I have coming up in a few days another anticipated event: my sibling reunion. I am so excited!!! It is just the original 12 Weber's. We wanted to get together to have fun, and it was easier to plan a date than it was with all the spouses and children, though they will be missed dearly. We all have such a good time with each other and playing games, and hanigng out. I'll post about it more when I get back, next week. It's Gonna Be Great!

A wonderful day

I had such a good day today! First off, I have worked the last 9 out of 11 days. It has been really, insanely busy at work and like a million people are having babies (really it's been about 230 for the month of July) so I've been coming in extra. The reason I've been available, besides being there for my peeps, is that Derek and I have a road trip planned in September for two weeks (more on that later). We are taking two weeks to drive around Western US and need lots of gas money :) Anyway, so because of that I haven't hardly seen my spousal unit. He has had to fend for himself with dinners, and housecleaning and finding entertainment without my sparkling personality. But, today was a good day. I had the day off, and we got to go on a date. We went to Olive Garden, saw The Dark Night (Whoa, what a good movie!), and then I got the final book in the Twilight Series, The Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. Ahh- time off with my husband, and a good book and good food equals a wonderful day.

Ps, that's why I haven't blogged in so long!
